About Pasadena

Pasadena is the second-largest city in Harris County and is located in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown area. Founded in 1893, Pasadena was named after the city in California. As of 2010, the city had a population of 149,043 people.

Welcome to the Strawberry Capitol of the South, Pasadena! This community is small enough to feel homey with a population of 150,000, and still large enough to boast it's own orchestra society. Whatever your living needs are, Pasadena can meet them and exceed them.

Yes, the Strawberry Capitol

Each May, Pasadena hosts the Strawberry Festival to celebrate the opening of strawberry season. Get ready for strawberry eating contests, parades, cook-offs, and musical entertainment that will make you tap your toes.

There's plenty more to do when it's not strawberry time. The Pasadena Parks and Recreation department is home to three community centers which offer walking trails, swimming pools and game rooms for you and your neighbors. Imagine the picnics you'll have at the 47 parks, and watching your kids play ball at one of the 21 baseball fields. Fall brings the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, which raises scholarship money for local students, and the city boasts three live theaters. Sports, critters and culture – Pasadena has it all!
